Grameenphone, in collaboration with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro (BSK), hosted the Award Giving Ceremony of the National Book Reading Program 2025 in Khulna on August 22, 2025. Following successful events in Dhaka, Barisal, and Rajshahi divisions, the Khulna chapter was held at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, honoring the remarkable achievements of young readers who have excelled in their literary journey.
This year, 3,909 students from 57 schools across Khulna Metropolitan were recognized for their dedication to reading. Among them, 1,222 girls and 1,038 boys received their awards on stage, celebrating their commitment to intellectual growth and curiosity.
The ceremony was graced by a distinguished lineup of guests, including Mr. Md. Firoz Sarkar, Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary), Khulna, Mr. Mohammad Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Khulna, Mr. Khalid Hasan, Management Consultant and Trustee, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, Mr. Khairul Alam Sabuj, Renowned Actor and Translator, Mr. M. A. Muhit, Everest Summiteer, Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Acting Deputy Director, Secondary and Higher Education, Khulna Region, Mr. Jhantu Niyogi, Professor and Head of Drawing and Painting Discipline, Khulna University, Mr. S. M. Sayedur Rahman, District Education Officer, Khulna, Mr. Shamim Al Mamun, Director, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, and Ms. Bushra Meherin, Regional Head, Khulna, Grameenphone Ltd.
In her remarks, Ms. Bushra Meherin shared “The youth are the architects of our future.
